The mission of the Adult Education Committee is to provide Jewish Content Education to the Adults of Mid Missouri's Jewish Family. This includes one time forums, on-going classes, guest lectures, shabbatons, book groups, and major congregation wide dinners/events. We attempt to meet the needs and interests of the congregation while challenging peoples interests in the Jewish World.
Examples of programs we have had in the past include, Shabbat Across America, Shalom Alechem Story Club, Shabbaton on congregational leadership, Judaism 101, medical ethics forum, and many holiday specific programs.
One of our goals is to create a Jewish Film Library. Each year we purchase a number of videos to add to the collection. If you are interested in signing out a video please or drop by the congregation office.
Another of our goals is to support Magan David Adom. This is the Israeli blood and emergency service. Each year we do a fund raiser for this worthly cause. To find out more about magan david adom please see http://www.armdi.org/. Start saving your spare change. We will collect all donations in March each year.
The committee consists of Laura Flacks-Narrol, Jim Kruger, Mariah Greenwood, and Eliott Ribner. Please feel free to contact any of the members if you are interested in joining the committee or have a great idea for an upcoming program!
