CBS voted to construct our new congregational home in phases, beginning with a classroom/sanctuary/multi-purpose wing. Benyamin Schwarz, Ph.D., a Professor of Architectural Studies at MU, came up with a wonderful plan for our new building, including moveable divider walls so that a small, intimate worship space can be expanded for community events. We're keeping the farm house as administrative and additional classroom space.  

Having purchased almost 7 acres of land in the heart of southwest Columbia, we are now ready to turn our vision into reality.

BUILDING A HOME for JEWISH LIFE in MID-MISSOURI

• A legacy for future generations of Jews in mid-Missouri

WHAT?

After a formal needs assessment and feasibility study, the Congregation has developed a plan for a new 19,800 sq. ft. facility, while maintaining the current renovated “farmhouse.” It is estimated that this facility will cost $1.5 milllion. To date, we have raised much of the amount through personal contributions from local families.

WHY?
